Odion Jude Ighalo is a Nigerian professional footballer who plays as a striker for English Premier League club Manchester United, on loan from Shanghai Greenland Shenhua of the Chinese Super League. After starting his career at Nigerian clubs Prime and Julius Berger, Ighalo moved to Norwegian club Lyn in 2007.

Ighalo is a devout Christian, who also often dedicates part of his wages for Nigerian charitable organisations to help impoverished children, schools and widows below the poverty line. He is a lifelong Manchester United supporter

Ighalo is married to Sonia Ighalo. The couple who got married since 2009 now has three children.

In December 2019, Ighalo’s sister, Mary Atole, died. Ighalo honoured his late sister by inscribing her name in his boots.

In 2017, Ighalo established an orphanage home which was built with as much as £1 million. The orphanage is located in Ijagun, a suburban town in Lagos, marred by poverty.
